Target Information
MMP10 (matrix metalloproteinase 10) is a member of the matrix metalloproteinase family, generally secreted in its pro form and further modified by extracellular proteinases. It requires zinc and calcium as cofactors for enzymatic activity. MMP10 is involved in activation of pro-collagenase, collagen catabolism, fibronectin degradation, and tissue remodeling. In humans, the MMP10 gene is located on chromosome 11.
