Target Information
Laminins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins and major noncollagenous components of basement membranes. They play roles in cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Laminin effects are mediated through integrin and non-integrin receptors, including laminin receptor 1 (RPSA). This receptor, also known as 67 kD laminin receptor or 37 kD precursor (37LRP), is highly conserved and associated with cancer cell invasiveness and metastasis. Multiple pseudogenes exist, and two alternatively spliced transcripts encode the same protein.
