Carrier-Free

• Reconstitution:
  Centrifuge the vial briefly before opening to bring contents to the bottom.
  Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in 100 mM acetic acid to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL to regain full activity.
  Make further dilutions in low endotoxin medium or buffered solution with FBS or tissue culture grade BSA.

• Storage:
  Store lyophilized protein at 2–8°C, preferably desiccated.
  Upon reconstitution, apportion into working aliquots and store at ≤ -20°C (not in frost-free freezer).
  Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is shared by IL-4 and IL-7.
The expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, representing a unique regulatory mode for precise gene expression control.
Disruption of IL-2-like genes in mice leads to an ulcerative colitis-like disease, indicating its essential role in immune response to antigenic stimuli.
