Target Information
IRAK3 (Interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 3, also known as IRAK-M) is a serine/threonine kinase and a member of the IRAK protein family, which are essential components of the Toll/IL-R immune signal transduction pathways.
IRAK3 is primarily expressed in monocytes and macrophages and functions as a negative regulator of Toll-like receptor signaling. It mediates critical aspects of innate immunity that result in an immunocompromised state during sepsis.
Mutations in IRAK3 are associated with susceptibility to asthma.
