PEP-0968 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20854.
Target Information
ZNF536 is a zinc-finger protein expressed primarily in the developing nervous system, including the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, and hypothalamus.
It possesses ten zinc fingers and interacts with CtBP1, a corepressor for gene transcription.
ZNF536 is closely related to transcriptional repressor ZNF219.
Overexpression of ZNF536 in embryonic stem cells reduces mRNA levels of neuronal marker genes (Pax6, MAP2, beta-tubulin III) after retinoic acid (RA)-induced differentiation.
Conversely, depletion of ZNF536 via RNAi increases these mRNA levels, indicating its role in inhibiting neuronal cell differentiation.
Overexpression of RA receptor α rescues the inhibitory role of ZNF536, suggesting that ZNF536 may inhibit RA response element-mediated transcriptional activity.
