Target Information
PLEKHM2, also known as SKIP, is a member of the M family of Pleckstrin homology domain-containing proteins.
A study of differential gene expression in human hematopoietic stem cells showed that PLEKHM2 is specifically expressed in stem cells, suggesting a role in erythroid commitment and development.
Other studies indicate that PLEKHM2 interacts with the Salmonella virulence factor SifA, implying additional cellular roles beyond embryonic development.
