EPHA6는 단백질 티로신 키나제 계열의 ephrin 수용체 하위군에 속하며, 축삭 유도, 뉴런-표적 상호작용, 신경계 내 구획화 및 시냅스 기능에 관여합니다. EPHA6는 뇌와 고환에서 높게 발현되며, 외부 생식기의 성장 및 폐합에 영향을 미치는 선천적 결함인 Hypospadias에서 발현 감소가 보고되었습니다. 마우스에서 EPHA6 유전자의 억제는 학습 및 기억과 관련된 행동적 결함을 초래합니다.
