CDKL5는 스플라이싱 조절 단백질의 인산화 상태를 조절하여 핵 내 speckle의 형태를 제어하며, pre-mRNA 처리 과정에서 스플라이싱 인자의 동역학을 간접적으로 조절할 수 있습니다.
CDKL5 유전자 변이는 여성 환자에서 영아기 경련 및 조기 간질 발작의 주요 원인이며, 이후 난치성 발작 장애로 이어질 수 있습니다.
