Cdc27 단백질은 진핵세포에서 보존된 Anaphase-Promoting Complex (APC)의 구성 요소로, Cyclin B-ubiquitin 결합체 형성을 촉진하여 B형 사이클린의 유비퀴틴 매개 분해에 관여합니다.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae의 Cdc27 및 Schizosaccharomyces pombe의 nuc2와 높은 유사성을 가지며, TPR (tetratricopeptide repeat) 도메인을 포함하여 단백질 간 상호작용에 중요합니다.
Mad2, p55CDC, BUBR1 등의 유사분열 체크포인트 단백질과 상호작용하며, 유사분열 시점 조절에 관여할 가능성이 있습니다.
다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되어 있으며, 서로 다른 isoform을 인코딩합니다.
