Target Information
ATF3 (Activating transcription factor 3)는 mammalian activation transcription factor/cAMP responsive element-binding (CREB) 단백질 계열에 속하는 전사 조절 인자입니다. 분자량은 약 22 kDa이며, ATF binding elements가 포함된 프로모터에서 전사를 억제합니다.
대체 스플라이싱된 형태인 ATF3 delta Zip은 leucine zipper 단백질 이합체화 모티프가 결여되어 DNA에 결합하지 않으며, 억제성 보조 인자를 프로모터로부터 격리시켜 전사를 자극할 수 있습니다.
세 가지 전사 변이체가 확인되었으며, 두 가지 서로 다른 단백질 동형을 암호화합니다. 이러한 대체 스플라이싱은 표적 유전자 발현 조절에 중요한 생리학적 역할을 할 수 있습니다.
