Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using the carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The Class II PI3 kinases, including PIK3C2A, phosphorylate the 3 position of PI or PI4P. Although less studied than Class I PI3 kinases, Class II enzymes are involved in receptor-mediated cellular processes such as insulin signaling, neuronal survival, and growth factor signaling.
PI3-kinases play roles in pathways related to cell proliferation, oncogenic transformation, cell survival, migration, and intracellular protein trafficking.
This protein contains a lipid kinase catalytic domain and a C-terminal C2 domain, characteristic of class II PI3-kinases.
C2 domains act as calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding motifs mediating membrane translocation and protein-protein interactions.
The PI3-kinase activity of this protein is not sensitive to nanomolar levels of wortmannin and may be activated by insulin, potentially participating in integrin-dependent signaling.
