Cell cycle regulated protein ubiquitination and degradation within subcellular domains is essential for normal mitotic progression.
APC7 is a conserved component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase controlling mitosis and G1 phase progression.
APC/C degrades anaphase inhibitors, mitotic cyclins, and spindle-associated proteins to ensure proper mitotic sequence.
APC7 facilitates protein ubiquitination and interaction of APC/C with transcription coactivators.
