This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

CD55 (decay-accelerating factor, DAF) is a GPI-anchored membrane glycoprotein that protects autologous cells from the classical and alternative complement pathways. Interactions between CD55 and CD97 are involved in T-cell regulation, and CD55 can regulate complement when bound to CD97.

In tumors, CD55 promotes neoangiogenesis, tumorigenesis, invasiveness, and evasion of apoptosis. CD55 is a 70 kDa glycoprotein anchored by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol tail. It binds to activated C4b or C3b complement fragments on the cell surface, preventing assembly and accelerating decay of complement pathways.

CD55 carries Cromer-related blood group antigens. Two alternatively spliced transcripts encode CD55: one for a membrane-bound protein and another for a soluble form expressed at lower levels. CD55 has been studied for its role in prostate cancer growth and survival.
