Target Information
Mitochondrial outer membrane protein regulating mitochondrial fission. Promotes recruitment and association of dynamin-related protein 1 (DNM1L) to the mitochondrial surface independently of FIS1 and MFF. Regulates DNM1L GTPase activity and oligomerization. Binds ADP and GDP (lower affinity), but not CDP, UDP, ATP, AMP, or GTP. Inhibits DNM1L GTPase activity without ADP; ADP is required for stimulating GTPase activity and forming long, spiral oligomeric tubules. Does not require ADP for DNM1L recruitment. [UniProt]
