Product Specific Information
This monoclonal antibody (clone 1042) recognizes human Collagen Type IV, a major component of the extracellular matrix providing tensile strength to tissues. Type IV collagen expression is restricted to the basal lamina and consists of two alpha-1 and one alpha-2-like chains. It is associated with disorders such as Alport syndrome and Goodpasture’s syndrome.
Applications Reported: Suitable for immunohistochemical staining of frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
Applications Tested: Tested by IHC using formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human tissue with low pH antigen retrieval at ≤10 µg/mL. Antibody should be titrated for optimal assay performance.
Excitation/Emission: 488 nm / 519 nm (Blue Laser)
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered

Collagen IV is a structural protein forming the basement membrane in tissues such as kidney, lung, and skin. It consists of three alpha chains encoded by COL4A1, COL4A2, and COL4A3 genes. Mutations in these genes are linked to Alport and Goodpasture syndromes affecting kidney and lung function.
