Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

M-CSF (Macrophage colony-stimulating factor, CSF-1) is a critical survival factor for the proliferation and differentiation of monocytes, macrophages, and osteoclast progenitors. It also induces VEGF secretion by macrophages, promoting endothelial progenitor mobilization and neovascularization.

M-CSF exists as several bioactive isoforms differing in potency and stability. The full-length protein is membrane-associated and may be cleaved into secreted forms. It functions as a disulfide-bonded homodimer that can exist as either a glycoprotein or a proteoglycan modified with chondroitin sulfate.

Binding of M-CSF to its receptor c-Fms (CSF-1R or CD115) triggers receptor dimerization, internalization, and degradation. Functionally, M-CSF stimulates differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells into monocyte-macrophage populations in culture.
Note: Human M-CSF is active on mouse cells, but mouse CSF shows no activity on human cells.
