Target Information
Aurora kinases are associated with microtubules during chromosome movement and segregation. AURKB (Aurora B) localizes to microtubules near kinetochores, specifically to K-fibers. This complex functions in chromosome alignment, separation, histone modification, and cytokinesis. The chromosomal passenger complex (CPC) includes INCENP, survivin, and borealin, which regulate the activity and localization of Aurora B. Overexpression of Aurora B has been observed in several tumors, including breast and colon cancers, and may interact with Aurora-A kinase through a feedback mechanism.
