Antibody detects endogenous levels of total OLFM4.
Target Information
OLFM4 is a 510 amino acid extracellular matrix glycoprotein belonging to the olfactomedin-related protein family and is selectively expressed in inflamed colonic epithelium. It has one signal peptide, six N-linked glycosylation motifs, and forms disulfide-bonded multimers. OLFM4 may function in differentiation and matrix-related processes. Constitutive expression in cancer cells enables binding to the apoptosis inducer GRIM-19, providing antiapoptotic activity and potential diagnostic relevance in human cancers. OLFM4 promotes PANC-1 cell proliferation by facilitating the S to G2/M phase transition and may interact with cell surface lectins and cadherins to mediate cell adhesion.
