Target Information
Zinc-finger CCCH domain-containing protein 8 (ZC3H8) acts as a transcriptional repressor of the GATA3 promoter. It binds specifically to the 5'-AGGTCTC-3' sequence within the intronic regulatory region (IRR) of the GATA3 gene. Overexpression of ZC3H8 induces thymocyte apoptosis, suggesting a regulatory role in thymocyte homeostasis.
