The Human CXCL-16 ProcartaPlex Simplex Kit measures CXCL-16 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing creation of custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits (not using a pre-configured multiplex panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantify multiple protein targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument.
These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and deliver analyzed results within four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 65 protein targets in a single 25–50 μL sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other bodily fluids.
The Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create spectrally unique signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).

Similar to a sandwich ELISA, the ProcartaPlex assay uses matched antibody pairs to identify target proteins. Each spectrally unique bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target, and bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
Unlike ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a plate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution. Detection is achieved via dual-laser systems that distinguish bead signatures and quantify RPE fluorescence proportional to protein concentration.

ProcartaPlex multiplex assays enable profiling of more targets using significantly less sample and time compared to traditional ELISA.
Multiplex panels are available across six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
