The Human CD163 ProcartaPlex Simplex Kit measures CD163 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing you to create custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate, regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex assays for the Luminex platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the principles of a sandwich ELISA, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate multiple protein targets simultaneously on a Luminex instrument.
These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and deliver analyzed results within four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for the simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 65 protein targets in a single sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other bodily fluids.
Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create spectrally unique signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).

Similar to a sandwich ELISA, each bead is labeled with antibodies specific to a single target protein, and bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
The main difference from a traditional ELISA is that the capture antibody is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing free-floating reagents in solution and higher multiplexing capability.

Compatibility

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available for multiple species including human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
