Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, an additional desalting step is recommended (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The HBS1L gene encodes a member of the GTP-binding elongation factor family. It is expressed in multiple tissues, with the highest expression in heart and skeletal muscle.
The intergenic region between HBS1L and MYB has been identified as a quantitative trait locus (QTL) influencing fetal hemoglobin levels and various hematologic traits, including erythrocyte, platelet, and monocyte counts, as well as erythrocyte volume and hemoglobin content.
DNA polymorphisms in this region are associated with fetal hemoglobin levels and pain crises in sickle cell disease. A single nucleotide polymorphism in exon 1 of this gene is significantly correlated with severity in beta-thalassemia/Hemoglobin E.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms have been identified.
