Product Specific Information
The RPA-2.10 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD2, a 50 kDa cell surface receptor expressed by most thymocytes, all mature T cells, and a subset of NK cells. CD2 interacts with CD58 in humans and is involved in T-cell adhesion and activation. The RPA-2.10 antibody can block mixed lymphocyte reactions and cross-reacts with non-human primates and pigs.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage is 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test in a 100 µL final volume.

Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
CD2 (LFA-2) is a monomeric surface antigen (45–58 kDa) expressed on human T lymphocytes and some NK cells, but not on B cells. It is among the earliest T-cell markers, present on over 95% of thymocytes. CD2 interacts with CD58 to mediate T-cell adhesion and activation. This interaction enhances immune synapse formation and cellular communication. CD2 deficiency has been linked to reduced intestinal inflammation and immune dysfunctions.
