For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Transferrins (Tf) are ~80 kDa blood plasma glycoproteins synthesized by the liver. They function as iron-binding transport proteins, carrying Fe(3+) ions with associated anions such as bicarbonate.
Transferrin mediates iron transport from absorption and degradation sites to storage and utilization sites. It is the primary blood iron transport protein, with about one-third of transferrin molecules bound to iron under normal conditions.
Measurement of transferrin levels assists in evaluating iron metabolism disorders including anemia, iron overload, and hemochromatosis. Serum transferrin may also play a role in stimulating cell proliferation.
