Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Repulsive Guidance Molecule A (RGMA).
Target Information
RGMA is a member of the repulsive guidance molecule (RGM) family, functioning in both developing and adult nervous systems. It regulates cephalic neural tube closure, inhibits neurite outgrowth and cortical neuron branching, and contributes to mature synapse formation. Binding to its receptor NEO1/neogenin activates the RHOA-ROCK1/Rho-kinase signaling pathway via UNC5B-ARHGEF12/LARG-PTK2/FAK1 cascade, leading to neuronal growth cone collapse and neurite inhibition. RGMA-NEO1 interaction also influences HRAS-PTK2/FAK1-AKT1 signaling, resulting in HRAS inactivation. Additionally, RGMA functions as a BMP coreceptor that may signal through SMAD1, SMAD5, and SMAD8.
