UBXN6은 VCP의 ATPase 활성을 음성 조절할 수 있으며, VCP의 보조인자로 작용하여 다양한 세포 과정 조절에 관여합니다 (PubMed:26475856).
CAV1의 리소좀 이동 및 분해 과정에 관여할 수 있으며 (PubMed:21822278, 23335559), 잘못 접힌 단백질의 ER 연관 분해(ERAD)에 역할을 할 수 있습니다 (PubMed:19275885).
