Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
TPT1 (Translationally Controlled Tumor Protein 1) is a 23 kDa member of the TCTP family of calcium-binding proteins. It is localized in the cytoplasm, widely expressed, and functions as a transcriptional activator, calcium transporter, histamine inducer, and antiapoptotic caspase-3 inhibitor.
TPT1 acts as a cytokine-like molecule that triggers histamine, IL-4, and IL-13 release from basophils, as well as IL-8 secretion and calcium response in eosinophils.
It plays a pivotal role in allergic diseases and is implicated in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and Down syndrome due to its wide distribution in the brain.
