Target Information
MAP2K4 (MEK4) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the STE7 family. It phosphorylates and activates JNK1/2 and p38 MAP kinases, preferentially targeting tyrosine residues of JNKs. MAP2K4 plays a key role in cellular stress responses and inflammatory signaling. It is implicated in carcinogenesis, with loss-of-function mutations observed in lung and pancreatic tumors, while also exhibiting pro-oncogenic roles in certain contexts.
