Target Information
GAD65 (glutamic acid decarboxylase-65)는 자가면역 질환, 특히 인슐린 의존형 제1형 당뇨병(IDDM), stiff man syndrome, 다선 자가면역질환(polyendocrine autoimmune disease) 등에서 발견됩니다.
GAD65에 대한 자가항체는 새로 진단된 IDDM 환자의 약 60–70%에서 검출되며, 질병 활성도의 중요한 지표로 사용됩니다.
이 항체들은 주로 GAD65의 입체 구조 의존적 영역을 인식하며, 두 번째 동형인 GAD67에는 거의 결합하지 않습니다. GAD67에 대한 자가항체는 IDDM 초기 환자의 약 15%에서 발견되며, 대부분 GAD65로 차단될 수 있어 두 동형 간의 상동 에피토프 존재를 시사합니다.
