Product Specific Information

PA3-041 detects Adenosine Receptor A1 from human and mouse samples. Reactivity is stronger in mouse and is recommended for use in overexpressed or recombinant human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot applications, detecting a ~34–37 kDa band representing Adenosine Receptor A1 from mouse brain.


Target Information

Adenosine receptors (ARs) belong to the 7-transmembrane domain G-protein-coupled receptor superfamily. Four subtypes (A1, A2a, A2b, A3) have been identified, each mediating specific physiological processes such as cardiac rate regulation, smooth muscle tone, platelet aggregation, inflammation, cell growth, and neurotransmission.

The A1AR subtype activates Gi and Go proteins, leading to inhibition of adenylyl cyclase and stimulation of phospholipase C, resulting in intracellular calcium mobilization. It also activates potassium channels, influencing cardiovascular responses.
A1AR is highly expressed in brain (cerebellum, hippocampus, thalamus, cortex), spinal cord, kidney, testis, and white adipocytes, where it modulates neurotransmitter release, inhibits lipolysis, and stimulates glucose uptake.
