Product Specific Information
This peptide corresponds to 14 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human TRAF6.
PEP-0138 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20019.
Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor associated factors (TRAFs) were initially discovered as adaptor proteins that link the TNF receptor superfamily to signaling pathways and are important regulators of cell death and cellular stress responses.
TRAF proteins share a homology region that enables binding to cell receptors and other TRAF proteins, activating different signaling cascades depending on the TRAFs involved.
For example, TRAF2 and TRAF3 bind to CD40, a TNF receptor superfamily member involved in B cell immunity, and are critical for NF-kappa-B activation in mouse B lymphocytes.
TRAF2 along with TRAF6 is also required for CD40 signaling in nonhemopoietic cells.
Additionally, TRAF2 interacts with the lymphotoxin-beta receptor (LTbetaR) in association with TRAF3 and apoptosis inhibitors cIAP1 and Smac.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
