This antibody detects endogenous levels of total TRP2/DCT.
Target Information
The TYR-related proteins, TRP1 and TRP2, are specifically expressed in melanocytes and contribute to melanin synthesis within melanosomes. These proteins share a transmembrane region, contain two metal-binding regions and a cysteine-rich EGF motif, and localize to the melanosomal membrane. Although structurally similar, they have distinct catalytic activities and function together as a multi-enzyme complex, with TRP1 stabilizing TYR expression in melanocytes.
