Target Information
Paxillin is a focal adhesion protein and a substrate for several tyrosine kinases such as src, FAK, and p210BRC/ABL. Its tyrosine phosphorylation is influenced by cell-cell adhesion changes. Paxillin interacts with FAK and Crk through its SH2 domain, independently of the extracellular matrix. Initially discovered in fibroblasts, paxillin phosphorylation may also play a role in neurite extension during differentiation.
