Target Information
The DUSP5 gene encodes a dual specificity protein phosphatase that inactivates target kinases by dephosphorylating both phosphoserine/threonine and phosphotyrosine residues.
It negatively regulates MAP kinase family members involved in cellular proliferation and differentiation.
DUSP5 inactivates ERK1, is expressed in multiple tissues with highest levels in pancreas and brain, and is localized in the nucleus.
