Target Information
CXCR7 encodes a member of the G-protein coupled receptor family. Initially considered a receptor for vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), it is now categorized as an orphan receptor with no identified endogenous ligand. This protein also functions as a coreceptor for human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV). Translocations involving CXCR7 and HMGA2 on chromosome 12 have been observed in lipomas.
