Product Specific Information

  • Stability: Antibody is stable for 24 months.
  • Positive Control: Human tonsil or colon.
  • Cellular Localization: Nucleus.
  • Specificity Comments:
Transcriptional repressor involved in lung epithelium specification and differentiation. Acts with CTBP1 to repress transcription and is essential for B cell development. FOXP1 cooperates with FOXP4 to regulate lung epithelial cell fate and regeneration by restricting the goblet cell lineage program. Useful in subclassification of DLBCL, with a high cutoff (~80%) needed for high specificity for the ABC subtype.

Target Information

This gene belongs to subfamily P of the forkhead box (FOX) transcription factor family. Forkhead box transcription factors regulate tissue- and cell type-specific gene transcription during development and adulthood. FOXP1 contains both DNA-binding and protein-protein interaction domains. It may function as a tumor suppressor, as it is lost in several tumor types and maps to chromosomal region 3p14.1, which contains tumor suppressor gene(s). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
