Target Information

RRAS2 is a member of the Ras-related protein family involved in cellular signal transduction. Activating mutations and overexpression of classical Ras subfamily members (K-RAS, N-RAS, H-RAS) are key events in cancer development.
RRAS2 (also known as TC21) shares 55–60% amino acid identity with classical Ras proteins and functions as a small GTP-binding protein of the Ras superfamily. It may transduce growth inhibitory signals across the cell membrane through a shared effector with Ras proteins. RRAS2 possesses high oncogenic potential, with overexpression and mutations reported in various tumor tissues and cell lines.
