Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of YB1 only when phosphorylated at Tyr162.
Target Information
YBX1 binds to splice sites in pre-mRNA and regulates splice site selection. It stabilizes cytoplasmic mRNA and modulates translation by affecting interactions with eukaryotic initiation factors. YBX1 also binds to promoters containing a Y-box motif (5'-CTGATTGGCCAA-3'), such as those of HLA class II genes, and regulates transcription of numerous genes. Additionally, it promotes separation of mismatched or cisplatin-modified DNA strands, exhibits endonucleolytic activity, and may play a role in DNA repair.
