Product Specific Information
PA1-4312 detects the Hippostasin/KLK11 protein in human, mouse, and rat samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects a ~38 kDa protein representing KLK11 in LNCaP cell lysate.
The immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 68–82 of the 35 kDa human hippostasin/KLK11 protein, showing 86% sequence identity to mouse and rat.
Target Information
Hippostasin (KLK11) is a kallikrein-like serine protease with two alternatively spliced isoforms: brain-type and prostate-type. It plays a role in reproductive and/or tumorigenic functions in the prostate.
Elevated serum KLK11 levels are observed in 70% of women with ovarian cancer and 60% of men with prostate cancer.
Serum analysis of the KLK11 biomarker may assist in diagnosis and monitoring of ovarian and prostatic carcinoma.
