Product Specific Information

Pacific Orange™ dye is optimally excited by the violet laser. For best detection, use a 575, 585, or 600 nm band pass filter.
Pacific Blue™ and Pacific Orange™ conjugates can be simultaneously excited at 405 nm, emitting at 455 nm and 551 nm respectively, enabling two-color analysis.

Target Information

CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and serves as a co-receptor for HIV. It is primarily expressed on T helper cells but also on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
Tissue-level expression is found in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain regions of the brain and gut.
CD4 aids T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor complex and tyrosine kinase Lck, and may mediate neuronal damage in immune-related CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
