Target Information
MAPK11 (p38 beta) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular processes and activated by proinflammatory cytokines and environmental stress.
This protein belongs to the MAP kinase family, which acts as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, regulating proliferation, differentiation, transcription, and development.
p38 MAPK beta is closely related to p38 MAP kinase and is activated via phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), preferably MKK6.
Transcription factor ATF2/CREB2 is known to be a substrate of this kinase.
