Target Information
PASK is an evolutionarily conserved protein found in yeast, flies, and mammals. PAS domains regulate intracellular signaling pathways in response to various stimuli. PASKIN contains PAS A and PAS B domains and a serine/threonine kinase domain related to AMP kinases. PASKIN activity decreases carbohydrate storage and increases protein synthesis. PASKIN-dependent phosphorylation inhibits mammalian glycogen synthase activity.
