Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody HP-F1 recognizes CD85j (ILT2, LILRB1, LIR1), a member of the ILT/LIR/MIR receptor family.
CD85j is a single transmembrane glycoprotein containing four ITIMs that signal through SHP-1. It is expressed on myeloid cells (monocytes, dendritic cells) and subsets of NK, T, and B cells. Expression correlates with leukemias (ALL, CLL) and plays a role in viral infections such as HIV, EBV, and CMV. Ligands include MHC Class I molecules (HLA-G, A, F, B27, E, F).

The HP-F1 antibody reduces CD16-dependent cytolytic activity of NK cells.

Target Information

This gene belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family, located on chromosome 19q13.4.
The encoded protein contains extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and cytoplasmic ITIM motifs. It binds MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells to inhibit immune responses, helping control inflammation and prevent autoreactivity. Multiple transcript variants exist.
