Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining using a 1 mM EDTA buffer (pH 8.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with the primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is thymus or skin tissue.

Target Information

CD1a is a non-polymorphic MHC Class I-related cell surface glycoprotein expressed in association with beta-2 microglobulin.
It is found on cortical thymocytes, Langerhans cells, dendritic cells, certain T-cell leukemias, and other tissues.
CD1a mediates the presentation of lipid and glycolipid antigens of self or microbial origin to T cells.
The human genome contains five CD1 family genes (CD1a, b, c, d, e) organized on chromosome 1.
CD1a localizes to the plasma membrane and recycling vesicles of the early endocytic system.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants of CD1a have been observed, but their biological validity has not been determined.
