MA5-15694 targets MYOD1 in indirect ELISA and Western blot applications, showing reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human MYOD1 expressed in E. coli.
This antibody detects MYOD1 with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 34 kDa.

Target Information

The Myogenic determination gene (MyoD) was first identified by its ability to convert embryonic mouse fibroblast cells into muscle cells.
Forced expression of the MyoD (human homolog: myf3) gene in various normal and neoplastic cells can either induce muscle cell conversion or activate otherwise silent muscle-specific genes.
The regulatory domain of the MyoD protein includes a 70-amino-acid region with a basic DNA-binding motif and a helix-loop-helix (HLH) dimerization motif.
Three other genes share sequence homology with the basic HLH domain of MyoD: myf5, myogenin (myf4), and myf6 (also known as MRF4 and herculin).
