Fibronectin은 230–250 kDa의 이황화 결합된 이합체 단백질로, 세포외기질에서 불용성 고분자 형태로 존재합니다. 배아 발달 및 조직 재형성 시기에 풍부하며, 혈장 내에서는 가용성 이합체로 존재합니다. Fibronectin은 세포 부착, 이동, 상처 치유, 혈액 응고, 숙주 방어 및 전이 과정에 관여합니다. 또한 폐암, 특히 비소세포성 폐암에서 발현이 증가하며, 세포의 종양형성 및 항암제 내성과 관련이 있습니다. FN1 유전자는 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 20여 개의 전사체 변이를 생성할 수 있습니다.
