Product Specific Information
- For IHC (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Human growth hormone (hGH) belongs to the somatotropin/prolactin family of hormones involved in growth regulation.
The GH1 gene and four related genes are located on chromosome 17, sharing high sequence identity.
Alternative splicing produces five isoforms (19–24 kDa).
hGH is secreted by pituitary somatotroph cells and acts through cytokine receptor family members, stimulating IGF-1 production, myoblast differentiation, and protein synthesis.
Mutations or deletions in GH1 cause growth hormone deficiency and short stature.
