Calcineurin은 T세포 수용체 매개 신호전달 경로에서 중요한 역할을 합니다. 이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 활성형 calcineurin에 특이적으로 결합하여 calcineurin 매개 신호전달을 억제합니다. 해당 단백질은 핵 내에 존재하며 leucine zipper 도메인과 PEST motif를 포함하고 있어 단백질 분해 조절에 관여합니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 두 가지 다른 isoform을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변형체가 생성됩니다.
