Target Information
Granulocytes are a category of white blood cells characterized by cytoplasmic granules. They are also called polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN or PML) due to their multilobed nuclei. The term "polymorphonuclear leukocyte" often refers specifically to neutrophil granulocytes, the most abundant granulocyte type. Granulocytes are released from bone marrow under the control of complement regulatory proteins.
