Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human VEGF-B. The anti-Human VEGF-B-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human VEGF-B by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human VEGF-B (500-P267) as a capture antibody, it allows detection of at least 2000–4000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human VEGF-B.

Western Blot:
To detect Human VEGF-B by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human VEGF-B is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs) are a family of closely related growth factors with a conserved pattern of eight cysteine residues and common VEGF receptors. VEGFs stimulate endothelial cells, induce angiogenesis, promote cell migration, increase vascular permeability, and inhibit apoptosis.
VEGFB has structural similarities to VEGF and PIGF and is frequently co-expressed with VEGF. Two isoforms exist: VEGFB167 (heparin-binding, cell-associated) and VEGFB186 (secreted). VEGFB binds to VEGFR1 (flt1) but not VEGFR2, and is abundant in heart, skeletal muscle, and pancreas. VEGFB expression has been linked to lymph node metastasis in breast cancer. The VEGFB gene is located on chromosome 11q13.
